Well, Since You Asked Me: Ten Take-Aways From #TrumpShutdown Ending (Jennifer Rubin)

Key Take-Away:  These are some good Take-Aways. I think the Foreign Affairs angle is spot on. And I predict it will come back to bite us in the ass. The Filibuster Proofing Angle is worth watching. I think they have at least 70 votes +. I also agree this puts enormous pressure on House Speaker Paul Ryan. But he’s essentially a lame-duck. If he wants to leave a legacy, he might just buck the Freedom Caucus.

Well, Since You Asked Me: The IDIOT Complicates Everything He Comes In Contact With (Julie Hirschfeld Davis/Maggie Haberman)

Key Take-Away:  Ouch! This article is a continuation of the piece from the day before with additional details. I will say it again, The IDIOT is in way over his head. This is complicated by his deteriorating mental capacity, which makes him ripe for the picking. This is a brutal piece.

We are seeing why some folks chose to go to work for him. They simply would not have this much involvement in crafting legislation in other Administration. Power corrupts. And power, unchecked, is deadly. It’s time we pull the plug on this shitshow.

Well, Since You Asked Me: The IDIOT Is Mired In A Familiar Crisis (Julie Hirschfeld Davis/Maggie Haberman)

Key Take-Away: The mental instability of The IDIOT is center stage in these negotiations. I come back to the central theme that John Kelly and Stephen Miller, along with Congressional leaders, are content with this situation. They have immensely more power than they would have in a normally functioning Administration. This is simply not normal and they represent Exhibit A-Z of folks using this situation for their personal benefit. It will be extremely interesting to see what happens as The IDIOT’s approval continues to fall.

The fact that this man is reliving his past and is filled with an unhealthy obsession with Barack Obama speaks volumes. I suspect that he’s in a very foul mood right now and will explode at some point over the next week. If I’m Mueller and Team, I might just assist those efforts along with some strategic story leaks or an arrest. Primarily because The IDIOT appears to be spiraling, and the folks that should be providing guidance and counsel are so focused on consolidating their power that they refuse to deal with the situation as it exists. This presents a ripe opportunity to create a wedge.

Well, Since You Asked Me: Tick-Tock To #TrumpShutdown (Burgess Everett/Rachel Bade/Eliana Johnson/Seung Min Kim)

Key Take-Away: This is what quality reporting looks like. Bravo Politico Reporters. John Kelly is a problem. It is quite clear that Republicans want the #TrumpShutdown to occur. It is also quite clear that The IDIOT is not respected. If you’re President, you don’t agree to Bipartisan Deals TWICE in one week and have them killed by your staff. Now you have your reason why John Kelly is still COS and hasn’t resigned. He and Stephen Miller along with Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WS 1st) are running the Government. Having an ineffective, clueless POTUS allows them to enact the policies they want. This is pretty much a Coup.

Well, Since You Asked Me: Can The GOP Govern? (Damian Paletta/Erica Werner)

Key Take-Away:  I have said for years that the Republican Party is NOT a Governing Party. They are a Campaigning Party. A Party that is great at Opposition. But they have been exposed as outright frauds with respect to positions that had been considered Core. It doesn’t help that House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WS 1st District) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) are woefully incompetent. I expect that regardless of what happens today or the coming days, they will pay a severe price in 2018. And deservedly so.
